The Tea Room
High tea, the loveliest excuse to linger.
Welcome to Dr. Bombay’s underwater tea party,
When the Ides of March swept through, it carried more than wind—pages turned, stories stirred, and something unseen shifted. Now Hidden behind a weathered door in Grant Park lies a forgotten library, where the story still stirs—weekend high tea, by curious reservation.
Inside a book-lined study, bathed in the ink of a thousand authors, teapots arrive like turning chapters, beside tiered trays of pastries—like secrets meant to be shared. It’s no longer a tea house but a tea room— a place between the lines, where time pauses and the magic never left.
Whether it’s an intimate high tea for two, a celebration for twenty, or even a large gathering, we offer the option to rent the entire tea room for special occasions. For bookings and more details, visit our reservations page and secure your spot today!
Dr. Bombay's Underwater Tea Party, a community tea house and the cornerstone for our international women's education program The Learning Tea . Nestled in Atlanta's historic Grant Park neighborhood, we've been serving up tea, desserts and lasting memories for over a decade. Shortly after establishing Dr. Bombay's, owner Katrell Christie founded The Learning Tea, which has offered housing, educational and empowerment opportunities for young women in the majestic Indian town of Darjeeling.
The years of great service in Atlanta and overseas have earned Dr. Bombay's and the Learning Tea recognition in publications including Southern Living Magazine, Huffington Post and more. We are a business happy to serve people of all stripes, colors and creeds. A large portion of every sale at Dr. Bombay's goes to support the Learning Tea's ongoing mission to improve the lives of its scholars in India. Whether you're enjoying our signature high tea service, a cup of Darjeeling tea or one of our delicious desserts, you'll be part of a delightful experience for your senses and a movement that emphasizes giving a hand up instead of a hand out.
